’s recent piece lays out the unfortunate reality of Substack’s partisan imbalance. Perpetually online people on both the Left and the Right think of Substack as a right-leaning platform because it had the audacity to spend the Biden years NOT censoring people to the right of the Squad, but a glance at the paid Substacks leaderboard for the “US Politics” category looks a lot like contemporary Google search results (seriously, try finding a non-Leftist media story about any current event using Google these days - they were well down the list a decade ago but now they’re just gone).

As of this writing, https://substack.com/leaderboard/us-politics/paid’s top 30 entrees start with the execrable Heather Cox Richardson and end with Michael Moore, with the Bulwark, the Contrarian (founded 10 days ago and into fourth place), Robert Reich, Dan Rather, Mary L. Trump, Aaron Rupar, and other deranged sky-screamers in between. There are two - TWO - entries in the entire top 30 that are not dedicated…
